Reborn again
In our last message, we stated to be back in May. Ruben’s recovery took a bit longer than expected, but finally, after two months of struggling we have some good news. We HAVE been back in May, although not on stage.
Last Wednesday, Ruben reclaimed his seat behind the drum kit and it felt like our rehearsal hasn’t been this loud for ages! Now that we have back the power of the drums, we will be working hard to finish the songs we have been writing in these last couple of weeks. We will bring them to you soon, and we hope you are as siked about them as we are!! We have some shows planned in June, so check our site for updates about those.As for other Phoenix’Ashes news, we can share a few more things with you. First of all, we are excited to announce our second European tour from September 19 to 23. We will be playing in France, Italy and Germany and we can’t even tell you how much we are looking forward to get on the road again!
Also, we have a big celebration coming up later this year. On Saturday October 6th, we have been playing on stage for exactly 5 years. We can’t let such an event pass by quietly. We will be playing a big benefit show, which will be organized in cooperation with the service club Kiwanis Bronsgroen Zuid-Limburg. Money raised will be donated to the worldwide Kiwanis project Stop Tetanus. Make sure you mark that date in your calendar app, because we will be having some nice bands playing then!

Unfortunate cancellation of events…
Due to health problems of our drummer Ruben, we are forced to cancel our shows for the months March and April. After his period of resting, we will be back on stage in May. Of course we all hope he will recover soon!

Silence…
…isn’t always what it seems. Just because Arnout joined the one and only Circle of it, “silence” does not at all mean a halt for Phoenix’Ashes. On the contrary - our silence is always echoing (of an empty wall, that is).
In other words, Phoenix’Ashes is busy writing new songs and preparing their musical year of 2012! We’ve got some nice stuff going on, including a brand new European tour next Fall and a new DIY song to be released. As we speak, the first shows for 2012 are seeping in. There might just appear a Shows-section to this website any time now! Also, we are working hard on a little project we will reveal when the time has come.
Make sure you keep an eye open for the Ashers. Coming back to you soon!

We Are The Troops Release Party - Retrospect
Last night at Willemeen, Arnhem was amazing! Great people, awesome music and a perfect vibe were the best ingredients for a release party for our split cd. We already were happy to be a part of The Troops, but yesterday made us really proud to be a part of this project!
The MSS-photobooth took out the best of us…
… and so did the stage :)A big hand to all of the other bands: Captain, Your Ship Is Sinking, Merge As One, Screw Houston, Start Screaming, A Jupiter Hymn, Solace Within, Rise a Thousand, Asylum and Never Say Never, we love you! MSS-Photography and RockingHairclips did their best to give the night just this extra special spark. The night ended with a sky high rise of epicness when all the bands united to perform the Bane song Can We Start Again, which is also featured on the split cd.
Can we start again?? No really, can we do this night again? And again? And again…Of course, there wouldn’t have been any Troops without our heroes from The Artillery, Robert and Marloes:

Ow yeah, the Artillery released one of the two covers we did for We Are The Troops, and guess what: they also made this awesome video with it of us acting like we’re Henry Rollins. We had a great time, and seeing it, just makes us more proud to be a part of it!

We Are The Troops CD Release Party
We can’t say it loud enough: next Friday we play at the long awaited release party of the massive project We Are The Troops! This split-cd was created by The Artillery Studio @ Didam, NL in order to give nine unsigned bands the chance to expose themselves to a broader audience. The result: a killer cd with 11 crushing songs, including two really oldschool hardcore covers, of course all recorded at the Artillery.
It will be awesome, with 7 bands playing, special WATT-merch, a special photobooth and who knows what more the geniuses of The Artillery have planned for us!

The girl and four guys from Phoenix’Ashes keep their screamocore melodic. Strongly inspired by the hardcore, punkrock and emocore from the last two decades, the band from the South of the Netherlands brings an energetic set with driven lyrics straight from the heart.
The band was found in 2007 and in 2008 they released their DIY full length “First Feather Burning”. After a line-up change and over 75 played shows, Phoenix’Ashes present their new E.P. “Echoing Silence of an Empty Wall” in 2011, on which an incredibly grown band is heard.
With styles from Alexisonfire, Funeral for a Friend and Across Five Aprils, combined with their own sound, Phoenix’Ashes will always be ready to charge the stage. Altogether with the explosive and enthusiastic live performance, they show to be a band with strong roots in music and an enormous passion for it.
Phoenix'Ashes have shared the stage with bands like Born From Pain, Longing for Tomorrow (DE), Uncommonmenfrommars (FR), The Real Danger, Billy the Kid (CR) and Kensington. They have toured through the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy and played at festivals like In Toom 2009, Breakfest 2011 and Bunkerpop 2011. The 2011 released E.P. is part of the highly acclaimed project We Are The Troops.
